Social Studies for Homeroom 302: Early Greece (Part B) - Vocabulary and Reader Response Questions were started in class and are to be finished for homework.
For Math, we worked through a pretty cool story problem together in class. Much like the x,y table story problems that our students have been doing really well on earlier this week, I think that this type of problem become much more clear as we see it in multiple forms.
For reference, or for extra practice, see if you can complete this problem at home. Remember to use variables to represent the ages, and to build simple equations for each statement. Then look for opportunities to substitute the variables.
Odysseus's son is five times as old as his daughter. Odysseus's wife is five times as old as his son, and Odysseus is twice as old as his wife. His grandmother, who is 81, is as old as all of them put together. How old is Odysseus's son?
