In math, we're practicing dilations and scale factors for another day. In the textbook, we're starting to explore how perimeter and area are affected when a polygon's sides are increased by a scale factor. (Also note, the new polygons created are SIMILAR to the original polygon, but not congruent.)
Math HW: pgs. 700-701
In Social Studies, we are exploring the Spartan Oligarchy, and making connections to where this fits into the large variety of Ancient Greek city-state governments. I'm also encouraging students to notice how often that the word oligarchy is used in articles and discussions about the current big money, pay-to-play trends of American politics.
