End of the Week update: We spent Thursday and Friday working on our first Architecture exploration of the year. On Thursday, we worked in groups to build the tallest tower using base ten blocks, masking tape and rubber bands. Our students were very creative and flexible in their investigations, with groups collaborating to work through different ideas to come up with the best option for building tall. Our tallest tower hit 100 cm (1 meter).

On Friday, we studied how the Willis (Sears) Tower used a bundled tube model was to reach world record heights and 108 floors. Our groups then used the same materials as Thursday to build scale models of the Willis Tower. The models were excellent and impressively strong.

Photos will be posted soon! Our 6th graders are doing great work!!!
