Parents, please remember, we have conferences this Wednesday, from 12 to 3pm and 4 to 6. If you haven't turned in a time request, please email me with some possible meeting times.

This week in math, we are working on using reciprocals to solve fraction division problems and then extending that knowledge to dividing with mixed numbers. This method (multiplying by the reciprocal) can also be used to work with complex fractions.

Math Homework:

page 311, all problems.

Also, please remember that ThinkThroughMath was assigned for this weekend. I will be putting in grades for that soon as our first entry of quarter 2.

In Social Studies, we are learning about Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent, and beginning the week with the countries of the Mediterranean region, and then studying the Marshlands of Iraq, in the areas between the Tigres and Euphrates Rivers.

Social Studies Homework:

Geographic Map of the Mediterranean region: use google maps or other web searches to identify the countries and the capital cities (or important cities) shown on the map.
