Dear 310 Parents,
As you know, schools will be closed from March 17 through at least March 30. During this time, I will be providing activities for students via Google Classroom and Khan Academy. I will also be using students’ CPS email and Class Dojo to communicate about assignments and to send links. Google Classroom can be accessed through each student’s CPS account, from the pull-down menu on the upper right-hand side of the webpage.
You can expect the the following activities for each subject:
ELA:
Students should finish reading Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry and there will be assignments and discussion questions posted in Google Classroom starting from Chapter 7. The book in PDF form is listed below, and will also be linked on google classroom. I will also be using Google Classroom to assign articles and questions from Scholastic Scope and CommonLit.

MATH:
Students will be assigned Khan academy videos and exercises to complete for review and enrichment. A math challenge problem will be posted in Google Classroom approximately three times per week.
SOCIAL SCIENCE:
Students should join the Google Classroom for their class (I will send an invitation through their CPS email) Assignments will be posted once per week for Social Science. Students who did not turn their Sparta graphic organizer can scan it and submit it on Google Classroom. Please let me know if this presents a problem.
You can reach me through my CPS email pcpapczun@cps.edu or through Class Dojo. And most updates will be posted on my blog. I will respond to emails between 9am and 11am each day.
Please keep your family safe during this time and I hope to see all students in a couple of weeks.
Sincerely,
Mr. Papczun
