Congratulations! We have made it to Spring Break, despite a whole host of unexpected and unique events over this school year. We are three weeks into our online learning experiment, with most of us doing a great job figuring out ways to learn online with new technologies and programs, all while grappling with the challenge of keeping a decent schedule while staying at home. As we take this next week off, my hope is that we are able to return next Monday with an increased focus on connecting with each other as we jump into new projects and learning challenges. Ms. Collins, Mr. Paranjape, Ms. Huang and I will be working closely to over the next week to create a more consistent set of weekly assignments for ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science and Coding. The expectation for learning from home will be that you are spending about 3 hours of academic time per day on your schoolwork, but that doesn't mean that all of that time is spent on the computer or device. Some projects will include making things, drawing diagrams, and doing experiments to extend your learning from the online assignments. I also want to encourage you to stay curious, reading the news, watching CNN 10, and pursuing new hobbies and crafts. I will be checking in a few times week with things that I think are interesting, but I will not be requiring any work until next Monday. I hope you all have a good week, and try to find something new and interesting to learn about each day! I miss you all, and hope to see you all on Google Hangouts next week.
