6th Math: Students will continue to build their knowledge about the rules of Algebraic expressions by learning how to factor expressions. Factoring is the reverse of the Distributive Property because it requires rewriting an expression by dividing a factor from the terms of an expression, whereas distributing requires multiplying through to each term. .

5th Math: Students will continue to practice operations with fractions this week, specifically focusing on subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. They will solve real world problems involving scaling up fractional amounts of recipes, and will work on reflecting upon their problem solving strategies on multi-step problems.

6th Science: As we enter the first week of in-person school for some of our 6th graders, this week’s science work will be built around BrainPop instructional videos and activities about Genetics, Heredity and DNA.
